Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken in a studio. The lighting is artificial, i used one strobe with a big softbox above the model and she was actually on a chair. I had 4 people who held the light for the shot. The rest of the photo is digital work.Time
The picture was taken in the afternoon but the lighting was with strobes :)Lighting
I wanted it to be simple and with some contrast. I was exploring with lighting to see if i could get a dreamy effect if i combined the lighting set up with the digital work.Equipment
I used my Canon 6D, a 18-75 mm lens, tripod, strobes, a chair for the modelo, a soft box.Inspiration
I wanted to explore with digital techniques that i didn´t try at that time and it was a good exercise for me cause levitation photography was everywhere. For me it was not something i decided to shoot because of a tend but because of a need to try things out of my comfort zone. I usually work with self portraits talking about my emotions and experiences. This time i had a model, a make up artist and lots of assistants during the class so it was a challenge. I was used of doing everything alone and i realize that photographers sometimes need help, a lot of help and it is ok to let people help you.Editing
Yes, of course. The result of the photograph is post production work. I added textures, and 5 different photos of clouds, the wall was actually a picture I took from a wall in an abandoned place. I put it all together working with selections, opacitys and blending modes as well as masks. In my camera bag
I have my canon 6d, 18-75 mm lens, 11-16 lens, 60 mm lens, my flash, ND Filters, Memory cards, extra batteries, chargers, tripod, a small hard disk, between others.Feedback
Try to photograph things or practice techniques that are out of your comfort zone because that´s when you really start learning what you like and dislike, you develop abilities you didn´t have and you create different works you haven´t tried before. The amazing thing about photography is that anything visual is possible, the only limits are in your head. Digital work is not always easy, it requires patience, time, dedication and passion but after 6 or more hours editing one single pictures and you see the final result, you realize all the hard work is actually worth it and you start getting good with some features you didn´t even know exist.
