I was on a training course in London and with not much to do of an evening so went strolling with my camera. This view from the Millennium Bridge caught my eye and as one of the river boats with all lights blazing went by I hoped the long exposure wasn't too long to have lost them... turns out it wasn't.

Location
From the Millennium bridge over the River Thames in London.Time
Just after sunset - at that time of the year that was around 7pm.Lighting
All natural...well as natural as man made lights can be.Equipment
Canon 60D attached to a Benro Travel Angel tripod and my EFS 10-24mm lens.Inspiration
I'd been wanting to capture the more typical shot that is taken from the Millennium Bridge (and I did that too) which is the head on shot of St Paul's Cathedral. As the sun set I was capturing St Paul's but afterwards, and in discussion with a fellow photog that I'd just met, we decided that a blue hour shot of the city lights with one of the river barges lights as an LE would be good. So I picked my spot and set snapped.Editing
The only special processing I did other than my usual workflow for a RAW image was to clone out an ugly pipe that would have been in the foreground. In my camera bag
Spare battery. Canon 70-200mm L (only the f4), my Lensbaby with various optics. I also never leave home without my ND filters and I own a 3, 6, 10 and 16 stop ND filter from Formatt-Hitech (a good Welsh company BTW). I also have my Apurture wireless remote and a couple of cloths.Feedback
Sure .. be patient fr the right light. Pick your spot and your moment and don't let the 100's of commuters streaming past put you off.
