Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on Bulls Island, SC, on a beach called the boneyard. Coastal Expeditions offers sunrise photography trips to this island which can only be reached by boat. The trip is an early one, leaving around 430-445 AM to get to the island in time to set-up and capture the sunrise. I have taken this trip a few times and this picture is from one of the trips that the sunrise looked great through a slight cloud cover. I am an amateur photographer and shots like this make me want to continue to improve and shoot more.

Time

Early monring

Lighting

No special lighting used, all lighting provided by the sunrise

Equipment

Canon Rebel DSLR

Inspiration

I just enjoy shooting landscapes, unique locations, and architecture. Trips to places where not many people go are what I look for.

Editing

Little bit of light adjustment that was all.

In my camera bag

Just my Canon Rebel and I always carry a Canon point and shoot as well

Feedback

For fellow amateurs, just keep shooting. I sometime take 1000 photos when on travel somewhere and it's not unusual for me to be only happy with a dozen or so. So that is why I just keep shooting. If I have to shoot a couple of million photos until I perfect my craft so be it, I enjoy the challenge. Pros don't need any advice from me haha
