Chinstrap penguins take a stroll along the black-sand beach at Whalers Bay on Deception Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. They are walking across a land covered in ash and cinder, remnants of volcanic eruptions in the 20th century. The mist behind them is from the geothermal springs bubbling beneath the surface.
