Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot down a country road in Gunton, MB, Canada. I am a self taught photographer so I am always on the look out for the next shot.

Time

I don't remember the exact time of day this was taken, but it was early morning. My cousin and I had gone for an early morning walk down the gravel road and I stopped to take this picture while heading home. It was July 25th,2015. Most of my pictures are from early mornings.

Lighting

The sun had just risen and I love taking early morning shots! The way the sun glistens off of the dew in the mornings or the way the breeze was blowing these bull rushes in the sunshine.

Equipment

I used my Canon G9 Powershot. No flash or tripod was used.

Inspiration

I was out walking with my cousin and we always take our cameras with us in case we find something that attracts our eyes. As it happened, there was a nice breeze blowing and the sun was out, but it was not yet hot. The bull rushes grown in the ditches here so its common to see them while driving down a gravel road, but walking, you actually take more notice of your surroundings. Like the plants, or flowers that grown along side a country road. Usually the roads are deserted early in the morning so you have all the time in the world to get that shot you want. I've been known to lay down on a road just to get it!

Editing

No I do not.

In my camera bag

I always pack my Canon G9 Powershot whenever I go somewhere.

Feedback

My favorite time of day to take pictures are early morning and dusk. Always pack your camera, you never know when you'll come across something! Be patient. Never hurts to take a bunch of shots when looking for that right one. Most importantly, ENJOY!
