Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken just outside Bathurst NSW. We often stay with family there and this was a morning we were leaving to head back home. These trees just popped in a side street, so we turned off and parked at the start of this little road. It was just stunning to be standing near them and a perfect opportunity to photograph. There was no traffic and hardly and wind so I snapped away and this was my favourite image.

Time

Being in a mind set to head home after visiting family, a snap decission was made to veer off onto this side road. Well worth the stop and admire and photograph these trees that just simply looked stunning. It is a feel good image that I love.

Lighting

As for lighting, Mother Nature at it's best, perfect light and timing.

Equipment

I know it was taken with my Canon, 50D I think but honestly it was so long ago I'd have to go back and check. No tripod, just hand held.

Inspiration

The pop of colour and for years we had driven passed these trees but on this day it was too good a chance to not stop and just capture the Autumn colours, so it was a perfect time by accident.

Editing

I i recall I think there were a couple of electricity wires going across the road which I have photoshopped out, honestly.

In my camera bag

Canon, now 70D, 35mm lens, 250mm lens, tripod, flash, spare batteries.

Feedback

If you see it capture it, don't regret not stopping, take that time to do something nice for yourself. Try a few different setting and go with what you think will work, check images as you are taking them.
