I want to sit on that pier and take it all in. Absolutely beautiful. Well done.

Behind The Lens

Location

Taken in My home Town of Dunedin New Zealand

Time

Taken in June 2013 at around 9 in the morning after a nice early morning bike ride, It's great at this time of year with the later sunrise (no 5am wake up)

Lighting

All natural light

Equipment

Shot on a tripod with a Canon 400D and the 18-55 kit lens I used a B+W 10 stop ND filter and a 4 stop Hitech soft grad ND to get the 4 minute exposure that I wanted

Inspiration

I love to explore my City and find little hidden areas and this was a great find and to top it off this particular morning there was a fantastic sunrise

Editing

I didn't need to do allot of post on this image, a simple lens correction/horizon straighten, pushed the saturation up very slightly and a final sharpen layer that I masked out everything except the pier

In my camera bag

Currently my bag contains a Canon 700d, 18-55 kit lens, Tamron 10-24 wide angle, Canon 50mm, various ND filters including a 10 stop,6 stop, grad 4 stop, 720nm IR filter, extra batteries and cleaning cloths

Feedback

Shoot lots, fail - learn from it, try again, rinse and repeat. most important if You're not having fun, You're doing it wrong
