Behind The Lens

Location

Took this in Clover Hollow, which is located in Giles County, VA.

Time

Nighttime, around 8:00 or 9:00 probably.

Lighting

The warm lighting contrasted well with the snow and the sky, doing those pictures remind me of a Thomas Kincaid painting.

Equipment

Canon t4i on a tripod, with a tokina 2.8 wide angle lens.

Inspiration

I was looking for that contrast between warm and cold, and the church lit up provided that.

Editing

Yes, used Lightroom and Photoshop.

In my camera bag

Canon t4i, tokina wide angle lens, flashlights....occasionally a shutter release cable.

Feedback

You want at least 10 seconds and a wide angle lens that can go as low as 2.8 at least. Moonlit nights and nights without moonlight both have their pluses and advantages.
