Arriving at Red Rock Canyon just at sunset on a clear day, I decided to make the best of the situation and see how these amazing sandstone hoodoo formations would look beneath the light of the Milky Way. I then light painted the stone during a 30 second exposure using just the single LED light on the back of my iPhone.

Awesome shot! I never seen the milky way so strong at Red Rock and I am from there (Vegas)! grew up BEFORE all those greedy land devs built so close to Red Rock and dampen the Red Rock night.
