Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken from the Bay Area over looking the Southern portion of the Bay.

Time

The clouds were exceptional at Sunset this day so I headed out with camera in hand looking for "That" shot

Lighting

End of the day lighting is the best, some times I get lucky and catch it with interesting subjects and colors while other days I'm not as lucky.

Equipment

This image was taken with a Canon 5d mk3 with a 16-35 using RAW in full manuel. I was using f/22 for the deep DOF and star effect from the Sun. I had the camera rest on the rail and would take a shot and adjust to SS to lighten or darken the image.

Inspiration

I loved the coloring between the oranges and blues and how the cloud brought it all together. I happened across this location and liked the trailing lines of the tracks so working to bring the two together turned into what I hoped would be a good image.

Editing

I will crop to a standard size along with adding a bit to the contrast and darken the blacks.

In my camera bag

I usually shot sports so my bag will have a 400mm f/2.8 along with the 16-35 or the 24-105.

Feedback

Shoot in RAW and Full Manuel, I find this allows me to alter how the image will look with less post production work. Look to also change your point of view, some times, try to shoot from ground level looking upward.
