I took the photo at a beach in North Goleta, CA, just south of ultra luxurious, Bacara Resort & Spa.Time
This image was taken just after 1pm. I know that we aren't supposed to take pictures midday, due to shadows, but I just couldn't help myself.Lighting
Sometimes, you need to break the rules for a fantastic photo. The shadows add to the shot, and since the image was taken close to midday, the colors were natural.Equipment

I have a love affair with the ocean. For several years, I would spend my days surfing. Chances are, this fence was torn down by a surfer who wanted to keep the beach as public access.Editing

Take a child with you! Seriously, children see the world differently than adults. The world is a bigger place to them. If you put a camera in their hands and look at what they 'see' with their camera, it will open up a new world for you too.
