Behind The Lens

Location

I remember going for a walk in the garden at my grandparents' thinking that there is nothing I can shoot. It was such a misty, sad, October day; all the leaves have fallen, there was no ray of sunshine; everything was in shades of brown. As I was walking back to the house, sad that I didn't take a single photograph that I liked I came across this apple tree with all the fruits on the ground. I bent down looking for a perfect one to shoot. I ended up shooting them all, I didn't change a single thing, just tried to find the right angle for everyone. This one turned out to be that one perfect apple I was looking for.

Time

I took the picture on a sad, autumn afternoon after I had almost given up taking any photos that day.

Lighting

The lightning ia natural, I must have taken a few dozen pictures before I found the right angle for the lighting/picture/result to be perfect.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D90 with a 18-55 mm f/3.5 lens

Inspiration

Nothing in particular inspired me to take this picture. I found the spot unexpectedly.

Editing

The only post-processing I did was to enhance the contrast a bit.

In my camera bag

I am not very experienced so the only thing I always have is my Nikon D90 with a 55-200 mm lens.

Feedback

My advice is for you to have patience and to not give up easily. You practically have to lay on the ground to take the picture and if you are in my situation: the ground is really wet and you don't have a blanket don't think that you won't be able to get the photo right, just keep trying.
