Location
Maplewood State Park near Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Time
I believe it was around 4:00 in the afternoon, possibly later.Lighting
Lighting was all natural. I took it a little after it was raining, so the sun was barely out.Equipment
Nikon D5100 with a wide angle Nikkor Lens. No other equipment.Inspiration
As my family and I were driving through Maplewood State Park, I noticed how the bark was darkened on the trees by the recent rain. The golden colors and the curve of the road gave me a very peaceful feeling. We decided to stop and I shot a few photographs.Editing
I did not do any post-processing on this photo. In my camera bag
In my Tamarac bag I have my trusty Nikon D5100, three to four Nikkor lenses, LensPen kit, a couple of hoods and two filters.Feedback
Don't just drive by a scene! We were actually on our way out of the park, so we could have easily just kept going. I decided right there that this was a perfect spot for a shot. When you get a feeling that you should stop and check it out more, don't hesitate. Go with your gut!
