Location
This photo was taken at a beautiful park in Cairns QLD Austraila, the park is just down the road from my home so I visit often.Time
I was lucky to have an overcast as it is like a big light diffuser. The time of day was about 9.00am in the morningLighting
When shooting portraits on an overcast day, the sky can act like a giant softbox creating soft, even light. You generally don’t have to worry about bright sunshine making your subject squint, dappled light coming through trees or harsh shadows on your subjects. However, because this giant softbox is positioned directly overhead, it can be hard to have anything other than flat lighting, catchlights can be hard to come by, and portraits can sometimes seem flat and boring.Equipment
For this shot I used my Nikon d3200, it's my old workhorse. I have all Nikon gear D3200 D7000 D610 (full frame) the lens was a 24-70mm 2.8. the photo needed a tripod as it was an 8sec long exposure @ f8 ISO 100Inspiration
One day i was sitting by the creek when I saw a stick spinning around the creek and was thinking that would look fantastic in fallEditing

All nikon gear D3200 D7000 D610 (full frame) the lens was a (24-70mm 2.8) (90mm macro 2.8) (50mm 1.8) (35mm 1.8 ) (10-20mm 3.5) (18-105 5.6) (105-300mm 5.6)Feedback
For spinners like this keep your eyes out for things in the rivers and creeks that spin in circles then use your tripod and shoot from 1sec to 10sec exposure and have fun ;) ND filters can help with your long exposure.
