Congratulations on your awards - I thought a good caption would be "times running out". Best wishes!

So we don't lose track of time... sometimes helps to leave a trail! Kudos on another brilliantly creative image!

Location
I travelled to a nearby village called Alderley Edge to take the photo. I'd heard the green areas there are beautiful, so I knew it would fit what I originally had in mind for the shot. After a bit of exploring I found a wood there where I set up to start capturing.Time
I took this photo late in the afternoon. The time wasn't so important for this shot, I just needed enough daylight to come through the trees to ensure the subject and background were well lit.Lighting
I find environments like this one great to shoot in because the trees diffuse the light. It means that subjects aren't going to cast harsh shadows so it's much easier to control the overall exposure of your subject. Some photographers prefer to shoot at dawn or dusk exactly for this reason.Equipment
I took the shot with a Nikon D7000 with a 35 mm f/1.8 lens. I used a tripod to stabilise the camera and a remote to trigger the camera.Inspiration
The concept came to mind on my 25th birthday actually. I'd had thoughts about how I wasn't pursuing a job that I loved, imagining myself running forwards and leaving precious time behind that didn't really serve a purpose. I think many people go through the same feeling, but I used my love of photography as a way to represent my feelings. I still look back on the photo as a way to inspire myself to make more use of my free time.Editing
Oh absolutely! The image is a composite of several shots I took all within the same frame. I started with an image of myself running with the suitcase and set it as a background layer in Photoshop. I'd also taken several shots of clocks in various positions within the frame, which I then added as masked layers in Photoshop. There were a few final touches I gave the image with the colour balance to give it a more surreal feel.In my camera bag
I almost always carry my camera with the 35mm prime lens, a nikkor 55-300mm lens (in case I need to zoom in on my subject) and a compact tripod. I also usually carry infra-red filters, remote controls and spare batteries - never forget the last one! On top of this I often take an array of props out with me, which has ranged from a bag full of clocks, to smoke grenades and an old wedding dress. I'm lucky that it's not customary to check bags on trains here in the UK.Feedback
If you're apprehensive about the post-processing side of things, as I was at first, there really is no need to be. You can find so many tutorials online now on how to create these types of images in Photoshop. These are so helpful in the early stages of learning image compositing - and free!
