Congratulations! You are so lucky. Some day I would love to photograph wild life. You are very good at what you do.

Location
This photo was taken in Kaktovik, AK. It is a very remote place, perfect for polar bear viewing.Time
This was late morning. In the afternoon the bears are usually a little bit less agile and sleep a lot.Lighting
Light situation was very difficult. Very cloudy and kind of dark.Equipment
Nikon D 7000, Sigma 150 - 500 mm lensInspiration
It has been a childhood dream to see polar bears in the wild. So in October of 2014 I was finally able to make that dream reality. Even though I put the camera down quite a few times, still took over 1500 photos in 3 days. There have been several bears around and they all tried to entertain us, without knowing it.Editing
Yes, I had to get the light situation corrected and I used Lightroom for that.In my camera bag
Depending on where I am going, but I try to have 2 bodies with me, so lens changing is not happening too often. The Nikon D750 is equipped with a Nikkor 24 - 85 mm, which comes in handy for landscapes and close ups. On the D 7000 body I usually have the Sigma 150 - 500 mm. Other lenses I carry are a 18 - 35 mm and a 18 - 250 mm.Feedback
As a total opposite to landscape photography, there is no time to wait. Click away and sort out later. Have 2 bodies with different lenses handy, as you don't have time to change. It happened to me that the 150 - 500 was suddenly way to close, as the curios bear came as close as about 3 feet.
