Location
I took this photo in Croatia, on one of 1200 beautiful islands, The little town from this photo is called Stari Grad, on the Island of Hvar, which is, beyond dispute, one of the most popular and most attractive tourist spots on the Adriatic sea (even on the Mediterranean). The scene from the photo is typical for that part of Croatia, so the entire town looks basicaly the same. Interestingly, that is the reason I love discovering that place, thus every photograph is a completely new challenge and requires a different perspective, as well as a hidden idea.Time
The photograph was taken in the late afternoon, just before the sun starts to hide.Lighting
What makes this photo special to me, is that it was a pretty tall order to make it look good enough. I immediately noticed this particular scene, but took me a few days to get it this way because the light was never satisfying.Equipment
I used the Canon EOS 600D combined with a Canon EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II.Inspiration
There is nothing special that inspired me to take this photo, just the composition and the colors I immediately noticed, and the fact I had this photo in my mind even before I took and looked at it on the display.Editing
The photo itself was nice but I was aware that some light post-processing was needed to achieve the best possible result. I used Lightroom to correct the shades a bit and to make colors more noticeable. In my camera bag
Since photography is my hobby and I enjoy it in my free time, I am not really into following trends when it comes to photography gear. I only use and buy what I really need (and that is of course not much), so the only purchase was a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 which I always use and, including the 600D body, is all of my everyday gear. In some spesific situations I use a tripod and a remote.Feedback
In my opinion, there are no real advice in photography in general. It's all about trying, testing, making mistakes, and the most important - doing it the way you like it and enjoy it, and not the way someone says it should be done, because photography is art, not science.
