Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was captured one evening in a tiny rehearsal room with horrible strip lighting and vertical blinds. The musician is my good friend Adam Melvin (melvatronica).

Time

I decided on using black and white to detract from the bland back drop and mix of obtrusive lighting . I also believe black and white pictures force the viewer to look deeper.

Lighting

????

Equipment

I have not used a tripod or set up the shot, I basically invited myself into the gig and snapped randomly as the musicians did their thing.

Inspiration

The sound of the drums and flute were my initial inspiration...but seeing Adam lost in his own sound is the reason the photo exists ??

Editing

I am a complete amateur, I never remember which camera I've used for a particular shot as I have many and it's not important to me.

In my camera bag

My camera changes with my mood and I'm not a lover of rules unless I'm breaking them.
