Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Ayr, Scotland on a holiday at a caravan park. It was 2013 and we had just got married at Gretna Green, staying at a caravan holiday park with the kids as our honeymoon!

Time

I remember this photo was taken late in the afternoon, the tide was high as we walked towards the beach down the path.

Lighting

It was natural light, not too sunny with lovely fluffy clouds and the sun low in the sky as evening drew in.

Equipment

I used a Fujifilm finepix S20100HD

Inspiration

As we were walking to the the beach for an after dinner walk I just thought how lovely dad and son looked just walking along hand in hand. Even though you can't see their faces you can see the bond and love between them. I had to capture it!

Editing

I took the image in sepia and softened it slightly on processing, nothing else was needed.

In my camera bag

My finepix S20100HD and some spare batteries! It was a wedding present from my husband. I can't afford to move to SLR but Im happy with what I can capture with it and am learning new editing skills every day. You don't have to own a top of the range camera to capture some beautiful moments. Some of my best pictures are take on a mobile phone!

Feedback

I think as photographers we all have moments when we see something beutiful in something, whether its a sunset, a nice car, a baby laughing. Always be ready to capture the moment because if you don't its gone forever.
