Stunning! Love the starburst of light rays in sync with the beautiful dress. Very creative and indeed magical. Congrats on feature!

Absolutely beautiful portrait. Congratulations. I love your photography. I make tutus here in Australia under Chantilly Tutus. They are so divine for little princesses shoots. Good luck in the Finals. :-)

Location
The picture was taken at Calico Basin near Las Vegas, Nevada. Since I'm coming from green Europe it took me a while to see the beauty of the desert.Time
I knew I'm going to take pictures of the little girl and it could be cold so I schedule it for the afternoon hoping it will be warm enough. Sadly it was still unusual cold for the Las Vegas great weather. There was no sun at all and this beautiful place looked grumpy. The picture was taken 2014/12/20 at 16:15Lighting
I brought a reflector with me but there was no sun to reflect. I looked at the sky which was all in clouds and I thought to myself: "Ok I have all the diffusers on the world".Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D600 with an Tamron 70-200/2.8 VC lens. No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
My inspirations came from other photographers, from beautiful locations and from my imagination. I know what I want my picture to look like before I take the camera.Editing
All my pictures go through basic processing in Light Room or Camera Raw for the right exposure, white balance and contrast. After that I move them as a smart object in Photoshop CC 2014. In this particular case the light behind her and leaves are added. In my camera bag
I love my Nikon with my Tamron lenses. I have Nikon D600, Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 VC, Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 VC and Tamron 90mm/2.8 macro lens. I keep my equipment to minimum and it is always with me.Feedback
Taking pictures of people is all about emotion. Here I had beautiful smiley girl on grumpy and without color background. I couldn't leave it as it was... I needed colors, sun, and happy feeling. After basic corrections in Camera Raw I moved the picture as a smart object in Photoshop. Working with smart objects allowed me to make corrections directly on the raw file. This image was created from two layers of smart objects with different exposure and toning. There was a third layer with light in hard light mode.
