Location
The photo was taken in the canals of Xochimilco, Mexico, during a photo walk for shooting sunrise, last year.Time
To photograph the sunrise was necessary to arrive at the pier at 5:00 am and navigate the canals in a "trajinera", wrapped in darkness. The morning was cold and there was a lot of fog which made the trees had a fantastic form. We were all anxious to get to the place where the photos were taken. It was certainly a unique experience.Lighting
After taking the pictures, and when we were leaving the place, I looked toward the island where we had been and the light passing through the trees fascinated me. Warm colors were wonderful and could not pass up the opportunity to make a few more shots. It was impossible not to photograph the combination of light and mist that turned the place into something magical.Equipment
To make the shots I used a Canon EOS 60D camera mounted on a tripod and a Canon 18-135 mm lens.Inspiration
For me, one of the greatest pleasures is to take pictures of nature. Dawn has a special magic because it represents a new beginning. Nothing is better than feeling the cold air on my face and be gradually covered by sunlight.Editing
I made a RAW file processing in Adobe Lightroom to rescue the warm tones of the sunlight, open the shadows a bit and correct levels. Additionally, I added a little vignette to focus attention on the light passing through the trees. In my camera bag
Usually I carry a Canon D60 with 18-135mm Canon lens, a remote shutter, several memories and full of energy, polarizing filters and cleaning equipment. I really want to increase my photography equipment :)Feedback
In Mexico there is a lot of beautiful landscapes: lakes, rivers, mountains, forests, jungles, canyons, waterfalls, caves, deserts, ... and much more !!! In this picture I tried to capture the beauty of Xochimilco, known as the "Venice of Mexico". It is a wonderful place where you can observe a lot of flora and fauna and where dawn is wonderful. For a picture like this it is necessary to arrive at dawn. At the pier "Cuemanco" service in a "trajinera" with delicious food (atole, coffee, tamales, bread) it is offered.
