Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at a wedding, the little guy was the ring bear. He was super shy and did not want his photo taken. Mom is sitting behind him and they are in an old fashioned car.

Time

It was late afternoon, probably 6 pr 7pm.

Lighting

This is all natural light here. It was still pretty bright out.

Equipment

I shot this with a Nikon D3100 and kit lens. No flash used at all. It was hand held shot.

Inspiration

I honestly was just trying to get one shot of the ring bear. He loved the look of this car, but would only go in it if mom was there as well. So I set it up and just waited for him to look my way

Editing

I usually do not do a lot of post-processing however, I wanted a very dramatic focus on the little boy. So I did a bit of doge and burn in lightroom to give it the final touch.

In my camera bag

Now days I have my Nikon D610, D5100, Nikon 50mm, Nikon 28-55mm, Tamron 35mm, 70-200mm. A few flashes, batteries, and snacks.

Feedback

I would say be patent with kids. And get down on their level. Talk with them and always have your camera ready to capture the moment, as kids move quickly and you can miss out the shot.
