Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Prague city centre

Time

This is one of my favourite photos. I remember I had travelled to Prague to meet up with my wife before we went on our summer holidays, and I was staying at a hotel in the city. I had spent a couple of days wandering around the city and then at around lunchtime on the 27th July 2014, I spotted this beauty parked on a side street, and just had to get a shot of it!

Lighting

I used no external lighting in this shot. Being midday, the natural light of the day was sufficient to capture this image.

Equipment

I was using a Canon 70D, with a 17-40mm L Lens.

Inspiration

I was inspired to take this photo because it made me think of my father who when I was younger owned 2 VW Beetles!!

Editing

I post processed this image using HDR Efex and Lightroom 5

In my camera bag

At the time I took this photo I carried around with me constantly my Canon 70D, the 17-40 mm lens together with a Canon 70-200 L lens, the kit 18-55 lens and a Sigma 50mm macro lens. These days I have streamlined having sold my kit and now don't leave home without my Fujifilm X100T and the Tele and Wide conversion lenses. This I find makes photography more enjoyable and less back breaking!!

Feedback

To capture an image like this you'll need to get down low and use a wide angle lens to get the whole subject in the image. Don't be afraid to get dirty!!
