This is an infrared picture, I desaturate it and then began to paint it in photoshop, but no real colors. I enjoy a lot doing it, because before digital photography I used to paint my b/w pictures

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Baru, a rural place near Cartagena (Colombia)

Time

It was more or less 11:30 a.m. because I need the sun over the trees

Lighting

This photo is Infrared and it is impossible to take when the sun isn´t over you between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. As this place is in the beach the sun is very strong

Equipment

I used a Canon EOS D30 converted to infrared, this was my first digital camera and reading I knew about converting it to infrared and I love it. The lens was a 24 mm and no filter was used

Inspiration

I always feel something special at the beach, and the "canoas" inspire me a feeling of peace.

Editing

The process is: First the picture appears orange, then in camera raw I convert it to black and white, and adjust it. After in photoshop I use an action: kromagery false colors and then I begin to play with colors, reserving some parts of the image, like the benches of the canoa and finally I painted yellow them with the pencil in photoshop

In my camera bag

I usually take my 2 cameras and 2 lenses, batteries and cards

Feedback

First the light must be very strong. And convert an old camera into infrared this is a wonderful world!! There are several places where they do it, My advice don´t do it by yourself.
