this was my first experience with a DSLR and zoom lens, It was a hard time capturing the flying birds. I am a self-taught photographer and every image of mine teaches me somethingTime
this was my first experience with a DSLR and a zoom lens, it was heavy too. Balancing handheld and keeping it steady wasn't easy. AS I didn't have a tripod at that time, had to shoot handheld. I started with manual mode and till now never went out of it to auto modes of any kind. This was shot in the early morning hours around 8 am. the light was very good but it was chilly weather.Lighting
lighting was very good, early morning lightEquipment
Nikon D 5000 with Nikon 70-.300 lens(for film camera)Inspiration
There were many migrating birds, it was their regular place of stay. It was early morning and they were busy collecting sticks to build the nest. My idea was to catch them doing this and wanted to get the stick as clear as possibleEditing

nowadays I have Nikon D 750. slowly upgraded from D5000 to D5200 then to D5300 and then to the present one as and when I was feeling more comfortable with my skills. the lenses I have are Nikon 50mm, Tokina 11-16 mm, Tamron 150-600, and Nikon 70-300mm 2.8Feedback
look for action, and be patient but be alert for their action
