Behind The Lens

Location
Arches National Park, Utah
Time
Sunset
Lighting
It was getting too dark and long exposure was needed. I light painted the arch a little bit using a flashlight
Equipment
Canon 5D Mark II, tripod, flashlight
Inspiration
It's a bit of a hike to get to this arch. We started late and by the time we arrived, the sun was nearly gone. It was nice though, we were the only ones there and we had the arch all to ourselves. I had to take the shot.
Editing
Used Lightroom for post.
In my camera bag
My 5D Mark II body, a 17-40 mm lens, a 24 mm tilt shift, an 80 mm, filters, cable releases, tripod.
Feedback
Research on your subject or destination extensively. If we have had known it was a longer hike, then we would have started earlier. Doing your research helps you decide what photography gear to bring, prepare you for the outdoor conditions.
