Behind The Lens

Location

The lonesome tree taken very close to my home in Nottinghamshire UK

Time

Photo shot later in the day with the sun to the right ( west ) of the picture.

Lighting

The lighting was not strong but it gave a strange ethereal effect .

Equipment

My Canon 6D mk 1 is so dependable. It,s older technology but makes cracking images.

Inspiration

I drive past this spot several times a week and it changes with the seasons, but is always like a beacon to remenber.

Editing

I used Ps to desaturate and apply a bit of dodging and burning--not a lot. The sky did get a bit more to highlight the cloud more.. The ploughed field takes on a snowy look with the process. !

In my camera bag

Simple stuff... Canon 24-105 L F4 zoom is my go to lens. It has a reputation of not being very sharp but careful exposure and focussing seems ok to me. A skylight filter, monopod and lens hood in a compact bag does it. A combination of weight and convenience.

Feedback

Keep your eyes open... familiar things close to home can mean a great deal more to others if they don,t see the. Never assume others do the same as you do.
