Location
This photo was taken in my back yard...We feed the birds and therefore attract squirrels and chipmunks as well. I have a 7 foot long kitchen window and both the windows on the ends open up to allow me to photograph birds outside without actually going out at all. I have a black curtain that acts as a 'blind'.Time
This squirrel photo was taken as I recall just after lunch time. The light does not get into the area where he is sitting to have his lunch till after that.Lighting
Because it was a dull day and there was no light I played with settings...and he continued to gorge himself on seeds and nuts.Equipment
This shot was taken with my Nikon D300s with the 70-300 lens...I have several cameras now and take all shots of this nature with the D700...Inspiration
He was there, I had my camera and so it was the right time and place to try to make a squirrel portrait.Editing
At the time I made this photo I was using PhotoShop with Camera Raw adjustments done first. I would have used levels, Highlights/Shadows, sharpening and Saturation. Cropping was also a necessity.In my camera bag
I was at home so all my equipment was available at the time!Feedback
