Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Topeka, Kansas in the backyard of my grandparents house.

Time

I believe it was around 2pm.

Lighting

I definitely needed the midday lighting in order to get enough light with the equipment I used.

Equipment

I had a Pentax k200d at the time. I used a 70-300mm take on macro/telephoto lens 1:2 and a 3x manual teleconverter that let me change magnification ratios. I also used a tripod as with the setup, the focus plane was only about a fifth of an inch in depth.

Inspiration

These spiders are very where here and I've always been fascinated by making the small uber large

Editing

I used camera raw in Photoshop cs4 for color correction and some minor exposure adjustments.

In my camera bag

Currently, Pentax k-7, oentax smc 18-55mm lens, tamron 70-300mm zoom/macro lens 1:2, mini tripod, gorilla pod, full size tripod, yashica C medium format, teleconverter, uv filters and polarizer.

Feedback

Experiment. Experiment. Experiment.
