Location
The photo was taken on the northern Natal coast, South Africa.Time
It was taken 35 years ago so I cannot remember the time but as I was on holiday and on a drive looking for pictures to take it was most proberly was during 11.00am to 3.00pm.Lighting
It was a dull and overcast day, when I came across this wreck.Equipment
I used a Mamiya C220 twin lens reflex with a 75mm lens, using Agfa black and white neg. film. When I processed the film it came out a bit flat.Inspiration
In the dull gloom giving a mood and with the waves breaking around the sections I thought it would make a good picture.Editing
I re-photographed the neg on a light box using my Nikon D7000 with a Sigma 105mm macro lens. I then processed in Photoshop which brought out more detail than what I had when I processed and printed the original b/w print. In my camera bag
I currently use a Nikon D7000 with Nikon 18-200mm, 55-300mm and 50mm lenses along with Sigma 10-20mm and 105mm macro lenses, for my street/graffiti photography I use a Canon PowerShot S5 IS.Feedback
Even thought one strives to get to a scene or find a scene at the " golden hours" one cannot always have the best lighting conditions and you have make do with what you have at the time and place you are at. Keep taking and looking for pictures and worry about recovering/improving in the post processing .
