I used one small flash unit with a 12 inch softbox and white board on opposite side.Equipment
Camera Nikon D7000, Sigma 105mm macro lens on tripod.Small low powered no-name brand flash unit with 12 inch softbox.Inspiration
Sitting at home with nothing to do,went into the garden and found the bee, it was not very active, selected the small flower which I placed in a clamp and managed to position it on the flower.Editing
All my pictures are taken in JPEG (Large/Fine).I always process in Photoshop correcting colour/contrast/levels to my like either with PS Camera Raw or Topaz or NIKS.In my camera bag
Camera Nikon D7000, favorite lens Nikon 18-200mm for most of my work, sport use the Nikon 55-300mm, Macro use the Sigma 105mm, Still-Life use standard Nikon 50mm f1.8, wide landscapes use the Sigma 10-20mm for the slightly longer sports such as surfing and cricket I use the Sigma 150-500mm.Feedback
With regard to macro work, most of my work is done in my darkroom/studio using a either as mentioned above a small flash unit, speedlites or household spots, I have not done too much in the field macro work which is a lot more difficult. Patience and plenty of trial and error required.
