Location
It was taken on a small meadow near a lake in my town. The grass gets really nice for photographing there during the summer as it is very dry and high.Time
It was just during the midday and it was really hot. The sun was shining right down to us and we were both sweaty and tired after the photoshoot.Lighting
Well, as it was midday, the lighting was not ideal for most photoshooting, making a lot ot sharp shadows. But in the end I think it was the amount of light that made this photo radiate the same impression that the whole meadow did. It makes me remember the hot sunny summer days when you can just lie down to grass and feel carefreeEquipment
I only used my camera, Sony Alpha A450 with 18-55mm lens.Inspiration
As I indicated earlier, it was the meadow that really made me to take someone there. When I first discovered the place two years ago (it is surrounded by high trees and it is hidden from the path) I was completely amazed and I thought I had to do some photoshooting there! I could even imagine a scene from a film being shot there. So when my friend Lenka called that she would like some photos, I did not hesitate and I took her right here.Editing
The portrait pictures usually require some retouching. Even though I am not a big fan of that, I retouched her face a little bit and her hand and made the shadow on her face a little softer. Then I increased the contrast but only a little bit as it was contrastive quite enough, used colour balance and two colour layers to achieve the smooth light effect.In my camera bag
I own just one camera; it Sony Alpha A450, as I mentioned. Then I always have my 18-55mm lens, it is the classic, then the 70-300mm lens which is sometimes really good for portraits from longer distances. It makes the backround nicely blurry. Then I always have my macro lens 35mm with me. I love macro photography so I have to carry it around just in case I see something beautiful on the way. The I usually have the remote control for the camera and some cleaning cloth. When I go photoshooting with people I always take couple of big plastic bags. One might laugh, but it is the cheapest way not to get dirty. Sitting in the wet grass, the model's clothes would be covered in mud (or they would sometimes refuse to sit there), so I always hide the plastic bags underneath their clothes in the way that it does not interfere with the photo. I also use them for myself when I need to kneel or lie on the ground.Feedback
I think it is really important to find a good place. Someties people might not notice, but the background at the portraits photography is very important and makes a huge difference even though the focus is usually on the model. Then of course the pretty model with with good expression makes a pretty picture.
