Location
The photo was taken in Hampshire uk at the hawk conservation trust .Time
The picture was taken mid afternoon outdoors on a sunny day in june .Lighting
The lighting was all natural it was sunlit part of the area but a high dark fence behind seem to asorb the glare.Equipment
The camera I used to take this photo was the panasonic lumix fz45 an advanced digital . f/5,2 iso250 exposure time 1/320 focal length 108mm. handheld.Inspiration
The inspiration of the photo was a moment for me to get up close to the eagle, my family and all other visitors had gone to watch a display and I found myself alone in the area where they were kept. The keeper nearby allowed me to get closer so long as I didn't make any sudden movements and didn't touch him. He was resting and had been fed so was calm which made taking his picture so much easier.Editing
the only post processing I did was a touch lighter and a small crop.In my camera bag
now I have a canon 1100d and a ultrasonic usm 300mm lens ,an opton macro lens and the 18-55mm lens.i also have a compact Panasonic fs15 and a smart camera Samsung wb30f one of these is always in my pocket.Feedback
I find if you have an opportunity to take a photo like this take it and take as many as you can changing focus and angles to catch the subject in different light. This increases the chance of getting that one good shot. conservation centres provide lots of photo opportunities to take pictures like this and most welcome them so long as you respect the natural personal space of the animal.
