Behind The Lens

Location

At my place of work on the James River in Hopewell, VA. We have a narrow pier that goes out to a larger water intake area and the osprey like to build on it.

Time

Afternoon light with the sun behind me.

Lighting

The angle was perfect with the sun directly behind me hitting the osprey in the front.

Equipment

Canon 7d with 400mm F5.6 lens. On Monopod.

Inspiration

I had seen them working on the nests and took the opportunity to spend a late lunch hour trying to get a picture.

Editing

A small amount of cropping with some sharpening and added a bit of saturation.

Canon 7D Mark II, Canon 70D, 400mm 5.6 lens, 100mm Macro, 35-350mm lens
