Behind The Lens

Location

Captured this moment at a truly memorable place, Kommetjie Lighthouse, Cape Town, South Africa. It is also known as Slangkoppunt Lighthouse. Said to be the tallest cast iron lighthouse in South Africa.

Time

Pic was taken on the 4th January 2015 at approximately 20:03 pm, Golden Hour.

Lighting

Cape Town skies natural light, no special lighting

Equipment

All my pics at this stage have been captured with my iphone 4s. This specific series of pics though, was captured with an S3 samsung. It is a dream to acquire proper photographic equipment, till then we do with what we have.

Inspiration

As the sun had just dropped below the horizon, I turned and focused on the next light source. Hence the name "Guiding Light". This capture is a favorite as I still use it in my architectural renderings when I need to add some art work.

Editing

Imported to Lightroom for post-processing and photoshop to upscale resolution.

Feedback

If you love photography, you have to visit Cape Town. There is just so much you can do with the natural light here. And most importantly to me..."Stay in the moment".
