Very interesting. We remain thinking, why they have the same clothes? The clothes are not very commom and have some decoratives buttons like cooks. May be they are from a fast food store and they are taking a rest after lunch! I am right? Congrats!

Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken on a side street , outside a restaurant in Philadelphia.Time
If I recall correctly, it was some time in the late afternoon.Lighting
I simply took advantage of the available light.Equipment
This shot was taken using my little Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ3 with a 10X optical zoom Leica lens. And despite it being elderly and suffering from the abuse of being dropped onto a few cobblestone streets, this little gem still performs. Indeed, it wears its dings and scratches like a badge of honor.Inspiration
While walking through the back streets of Philly I noticed these three young cooks sitting outside a restaurant taking a break. They were deep in conversation and didn't notice me at all. I was able to zoom in from a safe distance so as not to interrupt the moment.Editing
I did convert the image to B&W using Macphun Tonality Pro. In addition, I cropped out their faces as I thought it told a more compelling story without that detail. I had a discussion recently w/ a professional photographer from my local photo group who thought the photo could be improved if there was a cigarette in the hand of the non smoker sitting to your right. He photoshopped one in to show me how it would look if they all held a cigarette. It did balance the scene but I decided not to take his advice and kept things as I found them. ..so what you see is what I saw minus their heads. I actually liked the way their hands were positioned and the asymmetry created by that one guy without the cigarette. In my camera bag
I recently purchased a Canon 6D w/ a 24-105 L lens and a sweet little 40mm pancake that I find I usually keep attached to the camera which I carry in a Lens Coat pouch. It helps to make the 6D more travel friendly. I am still learning how to use this camera. I also still pack my Lumix as a backup.Feedback
If I could give any advice I would say that keep your eyes open and be prepared to take advantage of scenes that "speak to you". Street scenes are great for this as they are ever changing and if you're patient something interesting is bound to happen. Don't just look forward...there might be something behind you or, perhaps, down that side alley that could be that one great capture...or just sit and let the scene come to you. The camera I used in this shot was small and discreet and I wonder if a large zoom lens might have been too disruptive or intrusive. I think a compact prime lens is a good option as it's less noticeable and forces you to zoom with your feet and consider your composition more...perhaps minimizing the need to crop in post-processing. .
