Location
This photo was taken in my backyard where she had made her home in a newly planted crepe myrtle tree.Time
This was taken early in the morning.Lighting
I chose to shoot this early in the morning do the lighting would be soft.Equipment
I used a Nikon D3200 with a 55-200mm telephoto lens. No flash or tripod. I really didn't need a telephoto lens as I was able to get quite close to her...it just happened to be the lens I had on my camera!Inspiration
I was weeding in my backyard and came across this beautiful creature and knew I had to get a picture of her. I loved her colors and was amazed by her web!Editing
At the time I took this picture I had no post-processing program so this is straight from my camera. In my camera bag
The equipment I normally carry is my camera of course along with my 55-200mm telephoto lens, my 18-55mm wide angle lens and 55mm prime lens along with my flash and filters.Feedback
The first advice I'd give is don't freak out...it's just a spider. Get as close as you can to get more detail and be aware of your lighting. I like to shoot during the golden hour so there's no harsh light and shadows.
