Wow....I love it... I had luck like that once..I was taking landscape....bent down to my bag..heard a whir and looked right into the eyes of a juvenile eagle owl..3 clicks and 3 images....such luck..k

Well done. Nature always provides us with brief unexpected moments like this one. So glad you were set-up and ready to catch it.

Location
I took this photo while i was in Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary, India photographing juvenile pied BushchatTime
It was about Noon timeLighting
It was semi overcast day, not my favorite as i don't have very fast lens, but i can always bump up the ISOEquipment
I used Canon 7d, Canon 400mm 5.6L, Jobu Design Gimbal Head and Induro tripodInspiration
Birds always inspire me , big or small :) This was taken by chance !Editing
I did some cropping of the photo and adjusted while balance along with sharpness as this was a RAW fileIn my camera bag
Canon 7d, Canon 400mm 5.6L, 480ex II Flash, Better Beamer, flash bracket, flash remote cable, spare batteries and wired remote. Sometimes i squeeze in Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 along with Big Stopper filter for landscape/seascapes/waterfallsFeedback
Well Be patient! and don't run behind birds, you may never know which bird might just show up on the prefect perch while you just waiting like this one... who just perched and left within seconds
