Beaufort West_Snow in the Karoo_Easthouse

Photography sometimes comes down to being in the right place at the right time, and it was certainly what happened here... July 2012 in Beaufort West South Africa saw quite a freakish event, Snow in the Semi Desert Region. With no way out of the town, I had to stay a few days. After nearly getting stuck in my car, I decided to take a 5KM hike through the snow and icy roads to arrive at this view... Every time I look at this photo, I still feel my feet freezing in my wet sneakers, I still feel the bruises on my knees and thigh from falling on the icy road, but all worth it capturing this unreal moment...
