Gorgeous work of art! I read your location information and see where you shot this at dusk outside in a freezing cold pool...applause for that!....how exactly did you get the beautiful gold tone to the water? Was this an edit or was it with the lighting you used and lens? Its just beautiful and I'm so interested in knowing how you did this and learning from it. Congratulations on an amazing shot!

Dear Sharon, it was all a mixture that contributed to the mood. Starting from the dusk light (which is of a much lower color temperature), continuing with the backdrop and ending with the editing, of course. The most important thing i think was the dusk light. Thank you very much for your support!

Location
This is one of the first underwater photos i took in the year 2013. I shot it in an outdoor pool, somewhere in Bucharest, Romania, and i have to say, apart from the images, what stuck with me up until this day was the feeling of intense cold and the memory of me shivering every time i surfaced for air.Time
It was almost dusk, with the light slowly but surely creeping away from us.Lighting
My inspiration derives in great part from paintings and the time of day was perfect for the photograph - light direction and quality were exactly what i needed to bring forth the pictural element of the scene.Equipment
At the time i was using a Nikon D200, which is, in my opinion, still a great camera. I've changed to D800 for various reasons, but i am still fond of the D200 and use it on various small projects.Inspiration
I have always been fascinated with colors and even before i can remember i have dreamed of flying and of levitating. If there's a way to mix all that together, why shouldn't i try it?Editing
I usually try to keep post-processing to a minimum. If i do the best i can at the shoot, i don't have much to make up for in post-processing and that is always a good thing - i much prefer to be in the water than at the computer! In my camera bag
I always carry two Nikon DSLRs with me, together with the necessary lenses. Even though i like shooting landscapes, be it day or night-time, and therefor have two wide lenses, i always carry two fixed portrait lenses which i find awesome - a 85mm f1.8 and a 50mm f1.5. But i am in no way gear crazy and simply think that the best camera to have is not the one you saw photographer X or Y use, or "that awesome new one that just came out", but the one that meets your specific needs. We all know that people are different from each other, our ways of thinking are different, and therefor our needs are different.Feedback
Perseverance, perseverance, perseverance. There is no better way to put it. When you try to build something from zero, there are many chances to get depressed and stop what you're doing. I owe a lot to my family who put up with me stoically and had the patience for my crazy projects. I hope that what i do will continue to bring them and others joy.
