The photo was taken in a field of which I was hoping to cross. But this beautiful horse was waiting to greet me instead, whilst blocking my path. I walk across these fields often, near where I live in Northwhich. Despite following this same path many times, this was the first time I had met her!Time
This was taken early afternoon after we had finished our picnic at dinner time in a field near to where this picture was taken. It was a dry and hot day when this was taken which made me wonder why she had a coat on in such warm weather. Even though the coat was not necessary, it didn't seem to bother her at all.Lighting
I wanted to make sure that the picture not only captured the beauty of this horse but also showed how amazing the day was. I decided to crouch down to look up to the horse to give it a more magestic appearance. The natural lighting from the sunny day helped me to enhance this!Equipment
This was a picture which was taken on a coolpix S3400 camera and no other equipment was used.Inspiration
I love taking pictures of animals; especially domestic pets and farm animals. This meant that when I encounter this amazing horse I couldn't help myself but to capture it on camera. She had such a nice personality and let us walking past it with no problem to cross the field to the next gate. This was something I wanted to show on camera the innocence of such creatures and how they are not a threat to anyone.Editing
I did not do any editing on this photo. In my camera bag
I do not carry much equipment with me when I go out to take pictures. I normally only take my coolpix S3400 camera with me and sometimes use the flash to improve lighting and quality. I usually use natural lighting to creat my photos.Feedback
I think a picture like this is not one of which you can plan for. I think you just have to seize the day, as this picture was completely unplanned when I left the house to do my usual walk. I think you need to be able to see into the animals mind when you take pictures so you can show their inner beauty also. This is best done by taking a photo at the correct angle and lighting in order to suit their personality. As an animal lover I always bring my camera when I'm out on my walks as you never know what sort of wildlife you'll encounter!
