Location
Spotted this one on one of my regular strolls around my village flood lagoons, took from about six feet away so I new it would need a fairly big crop, but when viewed on my computer it looked better as is, giving it a Gulliver feel, my home in Chiang Mai, Thailand.Time
It was about 12-30 pm.Lighting
Lighting was mixed, part shaded, but not too bad.Equipment
Shot with a Fuji X-T2 with a 150-200 telephoto.Inspiration
I was attracted by it being in a shaded area, which usually gives the water a black spooky feel to it, good also if the subject is highlighted.Editing
Cropped, but a lot less than anticipated, and just a touch on lighting. In my camera bag
On my strolls around my village I take my Fuji X-T2 with a 150-200 telephoto lens, mostly for insects etc, but am ready for close-range Lizards, birds etc.I have been known to take my Canon 5D Mk2 with a 100-400 lens on a tripod, ok for short walks but a bit too heavy for more than 15 minutes.Feedback
For shooting Dragonflies etc. my Fuji set-up is ideal, usually Dragonflies will rest on objects like reeds which with a macro lens would mean getting into the water.
