Location
The photo was taken at Nymfaion, a traditional village near Florina, Western Macedonia, Greece.Time
As far as i know, it was early afternoon, about 3:30pm. When i settled in the hostel room, i took the camera and a tripod and started scouting for a good spot. This is a picture of the village's square.Lighting
The weather was quite windy that day, so, there was good quaity of light. The cloud presence was enhancing drama. The only thing i had to do was to wait for some dogs to leave the frame.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon EOS 5D mark II, EF 24-105 f/4 L IS USM lens with a HOYA circular polarizer filter attached and a Vanguard Alta+ tripod.Inspiration
Nothing particular. I always go after cloudy weather conditions. This shot was a result of checking the weather forecast. Nymfaion, for example, is known for its foggy conditions. This photo is far from that.Editing
This is a semi-auto bracketed shot (six frames RAW from -3 to +2, f16, ISO 200 with highlight tone priority enabled). Firstly, noise reduction was applied in each one. Then, they were merged in Photomatix pro and the final image was further processed with Topaz Detail. In my camera bag
For the time being, i own the following equipment: Bodies: Nikon D750 Nikon D800 Lenses: AF-S 20mm f1.8G AF-S 50mm f1.8G AF-S 85mm f1.8G AF-S 24-70mm f2.8 AF-S 70-200mm f2.8 VRII 2 x SB-910 speedlights.Feedback
It's not secret, i think: Visualise the photogaph, check weather forecast, good preparation, patience for the decisive moment.
