Against the grey of the skies and the landscape, it almost looked like an alien object, gently floating along the calm ocean

This is my favourite photo from my once in a lifetime trip to AntarcticaTime
In Antarctica, there is no night or day! This was taken what can at best be called the Antarctic duskLighting
The southern continent almost always has cloud cover, which is great for diffuse light. The icebergs themselves glow an unearthly blue, so the natural contrast is great!Equipment
This was taken on my trusty Canon 6D with the 24-105 L lens. All handheld on a rocking shipInspiration
The totally surreal nature of seeing these giant glowing chunks of ice serenely floating by! How could you NOT take a photo?Editing
Some subtle tweaks in Light room, but when the place is so good, you don't need to do much!In my camera bag
I took my entire kit for this trip, but generally I carry my mobile, my trust Olympus EM5 and a mini tripodFeedback
Snow is a bit hard to capture, so remember to over expose a bit otherwise, you'll end up with a 'muddy/grey' image
