The photo as taken at Lowe's. I asked the manager if it was ok for me to take photos of their beautiful flower beds and she reply "of course, we always have photographers here taking photos". I was like a kid in a toy store :)Time
This was my first flower close up photo ever... I remember so vividly I captured this photo around 12:46pm back in 05-11-2013. Hand held camera, didn't have a tripod or rest my elbows in a table or nothing like that. I just took a deep breath and click click click!!!Lighting
It was a beautiful day! the natural light was perfect! not too harsh just right. When you go to stores that have an outdoor garden they all (most of them) are covered by a tent with tiny holes. I call that a huge soft box with grid which allow the light to spread evenly. So with all that in consideration I was able to create what in my mind was the perfect shot to my likening.Equipment
I took this photo with my T3i and the telephoto kit lens that came with it. No filters or Macro lens.Inspiration
I have always had a passion for photography specially Macro/Close up photography. Flowers, petals and tiny objects that for other people means nothing for me I see the beauty in tiny little things... When I saw this flower the color, shape I immediately was drawn to it, like it was calling me to captured her beauty!!Editing
I did tweak the color just a bit using Lightroom 4, didn't over do it too much because I wanted to still look natural and no too over process or saturated.In my camera bag
Well at that time I only owned my T3i and the kit lenses. Now in my bag I carry my T3i, 6D, Flash, wireless triggers, Nifty Fifty, 85mm f1.8 and Tamron 24-70mm f2.8, batteries for both cameras lots of SD cards.Feedback
I always carry my camera with me. You never know when the opportunity to capture "that photo" will come. Always practice, practice don't set yourself just on the type of photography that you like. I take portraits, Landscape, Macro, Object's etc... anything to keep me active. Don't be afraid or shy to ask to take photos, always with respect and confident you can reach things that you never taught that you could. Photography is an art of observation. What is amazing for you maybe for others is not so much!! but that doesn't mean that you have to stop taking/capturing that photo, Love what you Do, Do what you Love!! Thank you ;-)
