Location
The photo was taken at my home in Westville, Durban, South Africa. I walked out of my front door and this little guy was on the glass panel at the side of the door with my cat sitting watching him intently. So I picked him up and walked to my driveway where there was a wild banana plant. I placed him on the leaf, took out my camera which lives in my pocket, and started taking shots while he was changing color ( he was totally beige in color when I picked him up).Time
It was about 16:00 (4pm) in the day on a bright sunny day.Lighting
Where the plant is situated was in filtered sunlight, which turned out to be perfect.Equipment
Canon Ixus 105. set on Auto. Aperture f/2.8 Iso 160 Shutter 1/60 I do have a tripod but did not want to chance to go and get it, in case my model disappeared.Inspiration
I just love nature and this was just to good a chance to miss out on, which is why the camera is always in my pocket and is a convenient size. I have some awesome photos of insects and various subjects as my camera is always with me.Editing
Yes, some minor changes to light and contrast on a Canon edit suite for this camera. In my camera bag
This is the only camera that I use, have an ancient Exacta full manual which is stored away. (Film)Feedback
You need to have a camera handy for when the unexpected presents itself. (Boy Scouts motto, 'Be Prepared') If no tripod is available to try to steady yourself in some way I used a small wall in this shot. If nothing is available control your breathing and hold your breath while pressing the button (much like a person on a shooting range or an archer).
