This photo was taken in my old studio back when living in The Netherlands. I used to practice with my friends as models so I could improve my skills.Time
It was shoot in the afternoon, I remember it was a rainy day (usual weather in the Netherlands), I used two soft boxes and two umbrellas. At that moment I just experimented with the lights and see what the outcome was later, I am glad I was curious enough to try different positions and angles.Lighting
I didn't really have an expectation with this photoshoot since I was just experimenting, therefore my advice is to just try and play with positions of the light to make the shading that you want. You'll need a patient model though, that's why friends or acquaintances are the best since they are also new at it.Equipment
Canon 1100d, kit lens, two soft boxes, two umbrellas and white background cloth.Inspiration
I chose this friend to model due to her past modelling experience, for some reason I wanted many colors so we agreed for her to put colorful make up on, and the silence sign was just an experiment of different postures, and this one came out! Improvised! :DEditing
Firstly I did some color editing and then focused on the colors to pop out a bit more. I also cropped the picture since it was a normal portrait first, but just this part with the finger seemed more mysterious and sexy. I saw a story in this photo, a naughty one??..maybe?? hahahaIn my camera bag
I am usually a pretty simple photographer I just carry my Canon 100d and her kit lens.Feedback
Well photography for me is about lighting and practice, practice, practice! Get out of your comfort zone and try different angles, even if you look silly trying different poses to get the right angle.
