This image was taken at Crater Lake, south-central Oregon in U.S.A just couple years ago.Time
We arrived there quite late in the evening and saw really nice views and decided to come back the next day and spend more time. Early next morning the awesome blue lake looked so cool with all those tall trees and white clouds and I thought I might get a decent pic.Lighting
Sun was sideways behind me so I didn't much need to think about it. I was so proud of myself when I saw the final image.Equipment
That time I had only one camera, Samsung hand held point and shoot with 4x zoom. I remember thinking that I needed a proper camera!Inspiration
My hubby was ready to move to the next sightseeing spot, but I kept staring this lake and took my time to shoot many different images. I was totally in awe by the colors, the depth of this crater and the small island.Editing
I like my images as they were when I shot them. Not much processing, just crop here and there. If the light is good, I usually find the images looking like the real thing and what I saw.In my camera bag
As I'm still a beginner, I have both my cameras with me and not much else. I carry my Samsung everywhere and nowadays I also shoot with Sony Cyber-shot. It's a pain to learn new modes and I'm lazy to read manuals, so I just shoot away, test this and that. Sometimes I'm happy, but mostly not.Feedback
I agree with most people that patience is the thing. I can't give any advise as I might shoot auto-mode today but tomorrow I test other features. To me it seems I have an eye for details and composition. Learn your camera, it's way easier than test practice.
