This is a beautiful photograph. I love the fact that you have resisted the temptation to oversaturate the fall colors. I wonder what it would look like if you cropped it differently? It might be even more powerful if the gate-like opening were centered instead of off to the side. Normally images that are "centered" are boring, but in this case the dog is already off center and the path winds off to the left, so there is already movement in the picture. In my mind, centering the gate would bring out the sense of adventure and tension, make you wonder where the path is leading.
