This bomber took part in the 'Black Buck' operation to bomb the runway at Stanley airport in the Falklands war. It was the longest bombing mission ever undertaken, and it helped prevent the Argentine Air Force from flying more advanced aircraft to attack UK forces. This is the only flying example of this iconic aircraft left, and is a fitting memorial to all those lives lost in the conflict.
